Building Photographer: Nick Guttridge

Singapore is a city that has many interesting buildings.It's easy for me to photo a okay picture.But the real hard is to take significant pictures.Nick Guttridge gives good examples for me.





To show the white colour of the building, the cloud can be grey.








































Not only building has a special appearance.If there is a person and a groove to be contrasts will become more interesting.






































Also need to have perceiving ability with locality.This picture doesn't say to much but has the good matched colours，two kinds of textures and a suitable frame to put them into the picture.







































Nick's building photograph always have pure blue sky and make it become a contrast with the content-rich buildings.It's a little hard to find this kind of sky in Singapore but I can use this technique in my hometown，where is at temperate regions.

Still life photography maybe is not what I must to learn, but I did shoot a lot of still life photograph as a personal daily mission.(Though I didn't know they are still life photographs.) When I search on the Internet, I found a lot of pictures are included into still life photography, such as many wallpapers, commercial advertisings or even those photos about the lifeless things. Laurens Kaldeway is a photographer who attracts more on the subject's sense of form. All these pictures are screenshot from Kaldeway's 500px website. In some of his works he tries to create interesting narrative in the subject.He will use many creative ideas to compose those articles in the pictures.Some of his works are just about some simple articles in a little bit special shooting techniques to bring some basic emotions to us.Weak in narrative is a trait of still life photography.The important part is the framing of lines, planes and spaces.Light and colour are

Josef Koudelka

Josef Koudelka is a Czech Photograher  who’s most famous images were of the Warsaw Pact invasion of Prague in 1968.His photography works are good at narrative and composition skills. Koudelka can maturely use figure to ground to stress the dominate element.The other elements in these pictures are inconspicuous. He also use lead lines to lead our eyes to the most important part of his pictures.And he luckily meets the  historical event for him to give play to his skills.And create the masterpieces.

Street Photographer:Anna Delany

I prefer to looking for somewhere few people in the city.And I enjoy the silent atmosphere of those places.Anna Delany can give me many inspirations for shooting those places. This picture shows her great framing ability.I still need to improve my sight to quickly make up a frame in my mind. I can't understand how to shoot like this picture.Really amazing. These pictures shoots the abandoned buildings inside.I used to explore these places in China before I started photographing.And I always had trouble with adjusting the colours.But now these photos tell me that black and white can well show the old feeling without the dirty colours.
